Spring and fall yard cleanups in Perrysburg and Toledo

Greener Results does spring and fall yard cleanups for homes in Perrysburg, Toledo, Maumee and nearby towns. Leaves, sticks and dead growth get cleared out, beds get cleaned up and cut back, and the yard is ready for the season ahead. Spring cleanups start once the ground firms up; fall cleanups start once most of the leaves are down.

What's included

Two visits that bookend the year. What gets done depends on the season.

  • Spring: winter debrisSticks, branches and trash that collected over the winter picked up off the lawn and out of the beds.
  • Spring: bed cleanoutMatted leaves and dead growth pulled out of the beds, and last year's perennials and grasses cut down.
  • Spring: edges & first cutBed edges cleaned up and the lawn ready for the first mow of the year.
  • Fall: leaf removalLeaves cleared off the lawn and out of the beds so they don't smother the grass under the snow.
  • Fall: cut backPerennials cut back and beds tidied up before the ground freezes.
  • Fall: last mowA final cut a little shorter than usual, which helps keep snow mold down over the winter.

How pricing and estimates work

Cleanups are quoted per visit after Brad sees the yard. Yard size, the number and size of trees, how many beds there are, and how heavy the leaf drop is all affect the price.

Yards with a lot of mature trees sometimes need two fall visits, one in the middle of leaf drop and one after the last leaves come down. Brad will tell you up front if that is the case.

Timing it right

In spring, the clay here stays soft for weeks after the snow melts, and walking a soggy yard does more harm than good. Most spring cleanups happen from late March into May. In the fall, oaks and some maples hang onto their leaves into late November, so the main fall cleanup often runs later than people expect.

Spring & Fall Cleanups questions

When should I schedule a spring cleanup?

Get on the list in February or March. Most spring cleanups in the Toledo area happen from late March through May, once the ground is firm enough to work on.

When is the best time for a fall cleanup?

After most of the leaves have dropped, which is usually late October through November here. Yards with oaks may need a later visit.

Do I need more than one fall cleanup?

Not always. Yards with several big trees often do better with two visits so leaves are not left matted on the grass for weeks. Brad will recommend what your yard needs.

Why does leaving leaves on the lawn matter?

A thick layer of wet leaves blocks light and holds moisture against the grass all winter. That can leave dead or moldy patches in spring.

Can a cleanup be added to regular mowing?

Yes. If you already have mowing service, spring and fall cleanups can be scheduled around your regular visits.
